I have a recipe similar to shrewsberry biscuits that i use at xmas to make "xmas tree biscuits". 150g butter (softenend), 1/4 tsp almond ess(you could leave out), 1 tsp groung cardamon-optional, 1/2 cup castor sugar, 1 large egg seperated (yolk), 2 Tbs milk, about 2 cups flour.Pre-heat oven to 150deg C. Beat butter, essence, cardamon, and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add egg yolkand milk then beat again, add enough flour to make the dough firm enough to roll out.Cut into shapes. For biscuits to hang up cut out a small hole with a straw at the top before baking.Decorate after baking. Bake about 15mins or until lightly browned. cool on a rack.ice and decorated with cherries or silver ballsbefore icing hardens. If you like them plain dust with icing sugar. Store in an airtight container to keep crisp.I hope this helps either now or maybe for xmas!
