Crumble Advice Please

I am doing an apple crumble for one of the deserts tonight and am wondering:

Should I put the crumble on the apple now and leave in fridge to cook later?or

Should I leave the crumble separate and just pop it on the top when going in the oven?

or does it not make the slightest difference??

I am making a rhubarb apple and cranberry crumble for tonight as well- I am putting the crumble on just before baking it so it doesn't go soggy.

Thanks katalin2 - I thought it may go soggy - I will leave them separate!Shows how many deserts I make!The other one is strawberries and cream/ice cream - I can manage that one.
