Tomato Relish ~ opinions please

I have a very easy and lovely tasting tomato relish recipe which I'm in the process of making (well I'm skinning the tomatoes at the moment).Do you think this would work?Adding dried cranberries and some sherry to give it more 'Christmasy' taste as I'm giving some away as gifts??All thoughts most appreciated

Chutney's not really something that many people associate with Christmas I suppose.

I'm sure it will taste fine.Brandy would be better than sherry I think.

Well, my opinion is that you don't need to add anything to a good tomato relish recipe to make it more Christmassy. I'm sure the recipients will be very happy with it just as it is. I know I always love getting something homemade.

I agree with Indy that tomato relish doesn't really lend itself to sherry, etc. it's great as it is.But I do think homemade relishes make a great Xmas gift - a lot of people don't really like sweet things and so few people preserve now that homemade chutneys etc. seem quite special.
