if i make the bug on the same day? i have been reading some recipes saying to feed the bug for 2 - 3 days. If i make the bug this morning can imake the bread this afternoon. Wanting to surprise the husband

Rewana is a sourdough and as such it needs some time to develop the yeast which will make the bread rise. This unfortunately doesn't happen in a few hours. So cannot "make the bug" in a morning unfortunately.

Try the recipe fisher posted a while back: Maori Fried Bread Bowl one: 5 cups plain flour. . 3 tbsp white sugar. . 1/2 tsp salt. ~ mix all together... Bowl two: 1 tbsp sugar. . 3 cups milk. . boiling water mixed together sprinkle on 1 sachet of fresh yeast ~ mix all together After 15 minutes combine well into 1 bowl and let rise for 1. 5 hours... Deep fry chunks in hot oil... ready when golden brown. . It's not rewena, but is yummy, and the girls in the Maori class I attended where it was made had no complaints!

Thanks guys i make fry bread all the time from my nannys recipe just want to try with rewena. i have just made my bug is it suposed to be like a dough? i know i need to feed it tomorrow now
