Sure it can, depends what you want to do with the mince, are you just wanting to do a "mince on toast" type of mince or turn it into lasagne etc?

I often do a meatloaf in the crockpot and sit it on a layer of potatoes, pumpkin, carrot etc. It turns out really nice and the vegies are flavoured with the juices from the loaf.

i chuck my mince in, mix up some bisto with a bit of water, some cornflour, herbs, spices, crushed garlic, add that to the mince then add some onion and frozen mixed veges and sometimes i tin of toms. or just add amaggi sachet thingy and a tin of toms. turn crockpot on and let it do its thing.
