i use a vanilla cake mix, and ad some instant pudding mix, to flavor it? like strawberry? and maybe ad a wee bit more milk.

I wouldn't risk it in the cake - but if you really want another flavour I guess you could add some to the icing, and if it doesn't work, the cake's not ruined.

it would increase the sugar in the mix. there are essenses for flavouring they would not throw out the sugar balance
