Nice Bran Sultana Loaf

I've looked on previous threads but haven't found anything I like. Tried Jo Segars but just average. Anything similar would do & I also love dates! TIA

wash your fruit and dry it before you use it . i always soak my fruit in ginger ale or fruit juice before i use it and it makes moist loaves or fruit cake

i drain the fruit and then mix it with some of the flour to stop it sinking in the loaf or cake

1 cup sultanas, 1 cup sugar 30grams butter. Put in pot and bring to boil. Stir in 1 teaspoon baking soda and remove from heat. Cool slightly and add i beaten egg. Add 1 3/4 cups flour,1 teaspoon baking powder sifted together and 1/4 cup bran. Cook in moderate oven 30-45 mins. Every Boy's and Girl's Rallies cookbook 2, have been making this for years
