with spagetti, (my old Dad used to make it with onions and some spices, but I am darned if I can remember, and he's no longer here.) :(

Sorry have to pull out now bindyloo as I have never bottled or frozen cooked spaghetti - maybe some NZlanders know about that.
I lived in Italy for a while and no-one would even consider those options there :)
Personally I would cook a nice sauce and freeze that - then cook the pasta al dente when I want to eat it and top with the re-heated sauce. Takes all of 7 minutes. Meanwhile you can chop up a salad to go with it.
