Freezing broad beans

I don't blanch mine as I peel them, don't like that yucky grey skin, childhood memories. I freeze them in serving size zip lock bags and cook from frozen then peel them before serving.I sometimes just put them in boiling water to thaw out, peel them and add to our salads too.

I will be freezing lots of broad beans tomorrow and can't decide whether blanching them first would be best or if it is not really necessary as I have read while researching how to do it.Is there anyone who has tried without blanching, and how sucessful was it.I would appreciate your opinions.

I dont think it is necessary if you are going to peel them after they are thawed. If you intend to cook and eat them with their hard skins, I would blanch them first
