Just got myself a new BBQ for Xmas. Decided to cook lunch. Mum and wifey and kids indicate I could easily get a job in a crematorium.
Dam thing too hot. Old BBQ used to have volcanic rocks as base and gas heated these. Now just on a hot plate. Cannot get thee same controll.How and where can I get rocks to simulate old BBQ so that bbqs don't just become salad affairs

Funny you should say that. I have a old hooded BBQ & was thinking of changing it, only because it's rusting & looks very shabby but after having a crowd over .several people commented that it cooked real well & their new modern ones were too hot, seems to be a common complaint. Sorry can't answer about where to get the rocks.
