whats nice alongside roast pork as a change from gravy and apple sauce! Am thinking something like a grated apple and walnut salsa or something! Ideas and recipes please! Thanks in advance

place a layer of sliced apples in roasting dish, add some white wine, oil. Place pork on top and roast. When cooked remove pork. The apples, meat juices etc blend together, season and reduce if needed and used to go with pork

Red cabbage with onions, whole faraway seeds all cooked in red wine and sugar (that sweet and sour taste), steamed bread (those are traditionally served with roast pork in Czech republic)
You slice the steamed bread 'knedlo' with a string then pour lots of juices from pork over yum !

There is a good recipe for beetroot and apple chutney on www.foodhub.co.nz. That may go well with it too

Been faraway when posting :)
It is caraway seeds!

Another autocorrect fail!

uli, Dec 20, 10:55pm
Yeah autocorrect only works for English I am afraid and faraway is more prevalent in English than those rare and elusive caraway seeds. Autocorrect will always take the option that is most often used.

This pineapple salsa is excellent with roast pork:

(cilantro = coriander, bell pepper = capsicum, if you use as much jalapeno as the recipe says it's quite warm).
