When making a christmas cake and the recipe

says- brown sugar,- if you use white, do you get a lighter colour cake.
Have just made mine, which is a boil up of fruit etc, and it is very dark, just wondered if I used white sugar it would turn out a bit more ofa golden colour.

it would not make much of a difference
