Can l use gelatine powder instead of the leaves?

griffo4, Nov 28, 8:40pm
Just saw a recipe for 6 gelatine leaves and l have none but l do have the powder type, can l use that!

Also where can l buy the leaves l have never seen them!

TIA

6 leaves equals 3 tsps powder gelatine or 1 10g sachet! Never seen leaves here. Soak the gelatine in cold water till it swells, Dissolve in hot, not boiling water.

No I've never seen the leaves here either tho only this week saw an NZ recipe - may have been from New World actually and that recipe suggested the gelatine leaves. You'd think they would stock them if they have recipes using them on their site!
