I want to make this, but don't want all the rich icing - has anyone made it and would it still be nice without the icing! thanks

Most of AL's recipes are just variations of others so bound to be onethe way you want it somewhere

You could make an ordinary icing sugar, lemon juice and knob of butter/margarine and lemon zest or you could eat it uniced
lt is a lovely recipe

or just a drizzle of icing over the cake, would look really nice too.

Last time I made it, I didn't ice. I just dusted the top with icing sugar. It was for a special occasion though so I filled it with some plum jam and a little bit of whipped cream mixed with lemon curd. It was a sensational combination
