I 2nd bread n butter pudding. Or else you can use it to make a bird blob.lard, honey and mix in bread or seeds - roll it into a ball and pop it in the fridge to harden. The birds love it :)

Bread and Butter Pudding or similar e.g. the first two recipes below; Toasties; Croutons; Breadcrumbs - stuffing made with those breadcrumbs.Maybe you'd like to try one or more of these recipes.

BAKED CHEESE PUFF{1}
For each serving allow:-
1 egg
180ml milk
2 slices sandwich thickness bread, buttered
saltandpepper
grated cheese
own choice of chopped onion,chopped parsley,chopped bacon,chopped or shaved ham,salmon,cooked flaked fish,sliced tomato

Butter an ovenproof dish that is about the same dimensions as a slice of bread.Place one piece of the bread in the dish, buttered-side down.Cover the bread with grated cheese and any other desired ingredients.Place the other piece of bread on top, buttered-side up.Beat the egg, milk and seasonings and pour this mixture over the bread etc.Sprinkle with a little more grated cheese.Allow to stand, refrigerated, for several hours or overnight if possible.Stand the dish in another of water.
Bake at180°Cfor½-¾ hour.

BAKED CHEESE PUFF{2}
115g stale bread without crusts
450ml milk
40g butter
2 eggs
saltandpepper
1 tbsp chopped parsley
1 small onion, grated
170g grated cheese

Cut or tear the bread into smallish pieces and put them in a bowl.
Heat the milk and butter together until the butter has melted, then pour them over the bread and allow to stand for 20 minutes, or once cooled, refrigerate and leave overnight.
Stir in the beaten eggs, seasoning, parsley, onion and approximately 130g of the cheese.Pour the mixture into a greased ovenproof dish and sprinkle the top with the remaining grated cheese.
Bake at180°Cfor½-¾ hour.Serve withe.g. tomato sauce and, if desired, a salad.
Note:For additional flavour, add chopped sun-dried tomatoes; chopped ham; cooked, chopped bacon or whatever is available – it may be best to add another egg to ensure that the mixture sets especially if the extra ingredients add any additional juice or liquid to the dish.

TOASTIE PUFFS
2 eggs
1 x 32g packet onion soup mix
1¼ cups (175g) grated cheese
4 slices toast-thick bread

Beat the eggs, add the onion soup mix and the cheese.Spread the mixture thickly on the bread slices.
Bake at230ºC (450ºF) until browned and puffed.Cool on a cake rack, then cut into finger lengths.
