I made it and so did one of my workmates. It's just fab!

Harira is great.I make it with shoulder chops (mutton when available) and we love it.It's also really cheap.

I'm wondering davidt4, whether it could be made with fish, such as monkfish or something similar! My daughter is embracing the vegetarian lifestyle at the moment and I thought it might be nice.

what is the ras el hanout!
(not sure I've spelt that right) or what is a similar seasoning if applicable .

It's a spice, it translates to 'best of the best'. You can make it from scratch but I never had time so I bought it. The bought one contains; tumeric, paprika, cinnamon, cayenne, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, cardamom, coriander, fennel, cumin, salt, pepper and rose petals.

The brand I have is Equagold.

I'm sure a fish version would be very nice, especially if you make fish stock from the bones of the fish, but you could hardly call it Harira.Maybe call it Moroccan Fish Soup!

If your daughter is vegetarian does she really eat fish!Surely not.
