Baked risotto

I need some advice please.

I'd like to make a baked risotto but the last time I tried it took a lot longer than I expected for the rice to cook and soak up the fluid.I baked it in a rectangle dish with tin foil over the top (rather than a dish with a fitted lid) and I'm wondering whether that contributed to the extended length of time.

Any tips would be marvellous.
