Filling for special cake

can anyone please suggest a good filling for a chocolate cake, one which is going to be iced with a melted chocolate and sour cream icing (never done this before but read it suggested in a magazine ) but i would like a fairly solid filling which gives the cake some hight and remains intact when cut.

either a butter icing, or make up a packet of mousse just use a bit less liquid, when it comes to cutting use a serated knife so you saw the cake rather than push on it to cut.

A sweetened cream or perhaps a ganache filling. You could serve with rasberry couli on the side to give a bit of tartness to it.

Easiest way to cut a cake is with a piece of sewing cotton.Just place it around the cake where you want it cut, cross over threads and just pull and it will cut your cake - best thing ever and so easy - will never go back to cutting with a knife. One tip though - make sure cotton is strong - I have had a couple break part way through.
