Using self raising flour instead of plain

Any way you can use self raising flour instead of plain! (making biscuits so would it be much of a problem! ) or would it make them rise too much!

My cookie recipe uses SR flour, and they rise just right. But that recipe has no eggs, which are a rising agent. I'd knock out any baking powder/soda and if there's an egg fling in 1/4 cup of milk and a wee bit of golden syrup instead.

Just eliminate the baking powder, I think from memory biccies are normally 1 tsp BP to 1 cup flour, so just eliminate the BP to that ratio.
