hi everyone,have seen a recipe for sweet an sour pork on here,i can not seem to find it now,any help would be great,thought i might make it for tea tonite.thanks

Sweet and Sour Pork

500g pork fillet thickly sliced then cut into cubes,
2 tbsp cornflour,
1tbsp sherry,
1tbsp soy sauce,
1 tbsp sugar,
oil for cooking,
1 large onion thinly sliced,
1 green capsicum cut into cubes,
2 small carrots thinly sliced,
1 small Lebanese cucumber seeded and chopped,
5 spring onions cut into short lengths,
440g can pineapple pieces in juice – juice reserved,
¼ c white vinegar &
½ tsp salt.

Place pork in a shallow glass or ceramic bowl.
Combine cornflour with sherry, soy sauce & half of sugar, add to pork.
Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Drain the pork, reserving the marinade.

Heat the wok or large Fry pan to very hot, add 1 tbsp oil and swirl to coat all sides.
Stir-fry pork for 4-5 minutes or until pork is golden brown and just cooked, remove from wok or pan.
Reheat wok or pan ad 1 tbsp oil and stir fry onion for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.
Add capsicum & carrot, cook for 3-4 minutes or until tender.
Stir in marinade, cucumber, spring onions, pineapple, salt , remaining sugar & 4 tbsp of reserved pineapple juice.
Bring to boil then simmer for 2-3 minutes or until sauce has thickened slightly.
Return the pork to cook and toss until the pork is heated through.
Serve immediately with steamed or cooked rice.

Sweet & Sour Sauce (from taste.com.au)

30ml vegetable oil
1 brown onion, peeled, sliced
1 carrot, peeled, sliced
1 tbs cornflour
225g can pineapple pieces in natural juice (drain and reserve 4 tbs of juice)
60ml (1/4 cup) white wine vinegar
20ml (1 tbs) soy sauce
2 tbs caster sugar
2 tbs tomato sauce
200ml vegetable stock
1/2 red capsicum, seeds and core removed, cut into 1cm cubes
1/2 green capsicum, seeds and core removed, cut into 1cm cubes

Heat oil in a saucepan. Add onion and carrot and cook over medium heat for 1-2 minutes. Mix cornflour with half the reserved can juices. Set aside. Add vinegar, soy, sugar, tomato sauce and stock to onion mixture. Bring to the boil. Add pineapple pieces, remaining juice and the cornflour mixture. Stir until thickened. Add capsicum and cook for a further 1-2 minutes. Serve with grilled or fried chicken, pork or fish.

Thai Sweet and Sour Pork
Ingredients:
350g lean pork2tbsp cooking oil4 cloves garlic, finely sliced1 small red onion, sliced2 tbsp fish sauce1 tbsp white sugar
1 red pepper, seeded and diced1/2 cucumber, seeded and sliced2 tomatoes, cut into thin wedges115g pineapple, cut in chunks
2 spring onions, cut into small lengthsfreshly ground black peppershredded spring onion and coriander leaves to garnish.
Method:
Prepare all ingredients before starting to cook. Cut pork into thin strips. Heat oil in wok. Add the garlic and stir-fry until golden. Add the pork and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes. Add the onion. Season with fish sauce, sugar, and pepper. Stir and cook 3-4 minutes.
Add the rest of the vegetables and the pineapple. Stir-fry 3-4 minutes. Add water if too dry Serve hot, garnished with spring onion/ coriander.

sweet & sour pork
$5 pork pieces & 1 can of pineapple pieces $.99. lighly fry 1 chopped onion then add the pork pieces(which i cut in smaller pieces than bought, makes them go furthur)once pork is strating to cook cover with 1 cup of water stir then simmer for 15 mins, In a seperate pot add the drained juice of the pineapple,1/2 cup of brown sugar(you can use white), 1/4 cup of vinegar,splash of soy suace S&P simmer then add 1 teapoon of c/flour & a little water to thicken(mixed seperately) tehn add 1 grated carrot & the pineapple serve over rice, this is so yummy its better than the bought stuff

Brianmacs Sweet & Sour Pork
this serves 4-6. 1.25kg lean pork chops;2 tsp sugar;3 tbsp soy sauce;1 tbsp dry sherry;1 egg yolk;cornflour;oil for deep frying;1 lge onion;8 spring onions;1 red pepper;125g mushrooms;1 med cucumber;2 sticks celery;3 tbsp oil extra;470g can pineapple pieces;2 tbsp tomato sauce;1/4 cup white vinegar;1 cup water;1 chicken stock cube;1 1/2 tbsp cornflour,extra. Combine sugar 1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce,sherry & egg yolk,stir well.Cut meat into 2.5cm cubes,place into soy sauce mixture,stir until meat is coated,cover,leave one hour;stir occasionally. Drain meat from marinade,reserve liquid.Toss meat lightly in cornflour. Heat oil,cook meat until golden brown and cooked through,about 7 mins.Do this in several batches so meat browns well and drain. Peel and slice onion;slice spring onions diagonally;slice pepper thickly,remove seeds;slice mushrooms and celery,cut cucumber into quarters,lengthwise,remove seeds,cut cucumber into slices. Heat 3 tbsp of oilin lge pan,add all prepared vegetables,drain pineapple and add pineapple syrup to pan with marinade from meat,remaining soy sauce,tomato sauce,vinegar and crumbled stock cube Blend extra cornflour and water ,add to pan;stir until sauce boils and thickens,add pineapple pieces,season with s&p. Add pork,stir until combined. If I was using rice, personally I would use Basmati Rice.
