IMO, yes jimbob37 - rice bran oil is the oil I have and use for general purposes, including baking.:-))

I thought it was slightly lighter (less dense) thanregular cooking oils.

I have never used it, so cannot comment. I use sunflower oil in all my baking.

I've used rice bran oil in baking with great results.
From the Alfa One website . "Rice Bran Oil the incredibly versatile oil that you can use for everything from stir fries, BBQs, Roasting, Pan Frying, Deep Frying, Pourable Salad Dressings and Baking."

I use grapeseed oil in cakes, it gives a good flavour. It's not cheap, but we only have cake for special occasions so it doesn't matter much.A bottle lasts me a year.

I used to use grapeseed oil too but now use ricebran for all my cooking including cakes.I even found that I preferred it over the grapeseed for mayonnaise - it didn't taste as oily.I believe that grapeseed and ricebran are the only two 'tasteless' oils so would only ever use these in baking.
