Here's our favourite, basic chocolate sauce. Make sure you heed the warning about the butter, or it will set hard as a rock!

Chocolate Sauce
¼ cup cocoa
1 cup sugar
½ cup water
1 small pinch salt
1 tsp vanilla essence OR ½ tsp butter

Mix cocoa and sugar in saucepan. Add water and salt. Boil together for five minutes. If to be eaten cold, add vanilla. If to be eaten hot, add butter. Important: NOT more than ½ tsp butter.
