golden syrup! The recipe (muffins)only needs a dessert spoon full and this will be the only thing I will use it for so do not really want to buy a tin of it. Thanks

Hopefully someone else will come in & help. Think Maple is lighter/thinnerthan Golden Syrup.

Thanks I am not to worried taste wise, just do not want to ruin the recipe but I cant see how I can with only a dessert spoon full but who knows. it may have some special reason

It probably depends on what you are making, but in your situation, I would give it a go - not a lot to lose really.

I'd try it and see but then I often do that if I don't have a particular ingredient.
