best cut of beef for pies

or stews etc. Have been googling & seems blade steak is recommended slow cooked for about 1 1/2 hours - is that so? TIA.

I would cook blade or shin slowly for 2 1/2 hours. It would be pretty tough after 1 1/2.

i use topside. cook for 1-2hrs and very VERY tender. Or even the steak they label "casserole steak' becomes very tender.
