Gingerbread house - help!

I have substituted golden syrup for unsulphured molasses -whatever that is but now I cant get my sugar to dissolve in it as the recipe calls for. What do you reckon- has anyone else done a house without treacle/ molasses with success! I guess I shall have to continue since I have all the other dry ingredients mixed and ready to go. See what happens.

my gingerbread house you added the treacle to the dry stuff no melting involved and was a yummy recipe. was my first time making a gingerbread house was fun and yum hehe.

The recipe I use calls for golden syrup/sugar/spices to be heated until just boiling and sugar is melted. Then you add butter and baking soda andstir until butter is melted and then you add the flour
