any good recipes for bacon soup ! It is about 1.2 kg of bacon, how long would it take !

hope that's a bacon hock, as that much bacon in a piece would be a shame to turn onto soup. i put my hock on about 8pm and leave it on over night, by the morning its so well cooked !and i partially cook the split peas and/or lentils as i haven't had much success doing them in a crockpot.
