Ginger Gems recipe

1 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 t ginger
1/2 t baking powder,1/2 t spice, 1/2 t cinammon,1/2 t baking soda,
1 egg, 1 Tb Golden syrup,1/2 Cuop milk, 1 Tb butter, sultanas.
mix dry ingredients with sultanas, add melted butter and syrup
cook in hot gem irons at 200*c for approx 20 minutes.
now where could you find some lovely gem irons around here!

You can sometimes find them in Op shops and recycling centres, especially in the South Island.There was once a factory in Christchurch that made cast aluminium gem irons.

Millies - they are online or use muffin or smaller tins instead, just grease and preheat, that gives a great result.

I would probably use a good handleful of sultanas,equates to 1/2 Cup I'd say lol. OOOh yes I know the sort of aluminium gem irons you are talking about heehee.

lol thanks lizyb. actually I am testing my marketing skills, I have 3 gem irons for sale heehee. Ifind that people on the message board usually check out what you have listed etc. when you're in a post. Trade me has the rule of not being able to promote your auctions on the message boards, Which I am not doing, just giving people a subconcious prompt:)
