Does anyone have this recipe please. Im pretty sure thats what it is called. Its layers of spuds and mince etc.

Murphy's Moussaka.mince fried up with onion, tin of tomatoes, layered with sliced cook potato, then a white sauce topping.can't remember whether there is grated cheese in topping or not.delicious.

Murphys Moussaka
750 gms potatoes
500 gms minced beef or lamb
2 large onions, finely chopped
2 tblsp oil
1/2 tsp salt
freshly ground black pepper
1 tblsp plain flour
1 can italian style tomatoes
2 tblsp tomato paste
Cheese sauce
2 tblsp each flour & butter
freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
1 cup milk (250ml)
1 cup grated tasty cheese
1 egg, beaten
Oven 180.scrub unpeeled potatoes cut into 5mm slices, cook in a pot with water.Cook mince with onion in oil in large frypan until the meat is no longer pink, stir in seasonings and flour, cook briefly, add the tomatoes and paste, heat until mixture boils & thickens.
Sauce: make cheese sauce as per usual method adding cheese last, as soon as it melts beat in the egg with a fork. Butter 10 to 12 cup capacity dish, cover base with a third of the sliced potatoes, cover with half the mince, then next third of potatoes, then rest of mince, cover with remaining potatoes, press down until fairly flat and compact. Pour cheese sauce over
and bake for 30 min. Cover with foil if browning to quickly.Leave to stand 5 - 10 min before serving.

That sound nice might give it a go next week. I guess be good recipe to make and reheat next night or freeze!
