Wrap in tinfoil :) (tip I read here on Trade Me recipe section)

I just roll it in a supermarket bag covering it. Works a treat.

Stand the celery in a container of water. Stays crisp for ages.

thank you all for sharing your wisdom, so if its totally covered before it goes into the fridge it should stay crispy? will it still need to go into the vegie bin?

if I do this will it still need to go in the fridge?

Mine would always go floppy too, so I tried the tin foil and it worked.

Ditto! Those Tupperware fridge keepers are fabulous. Work a treat with mushrooms too.

i bought one of those new plastic with click blue sides, think new world and warehouse sell them. they make a smallish oblong one with a tray, i think it is actually called a meat container. i find that works perfect, and kept celery once for a month, and it was still crunchy... .

A caterer's tip, from an earlier thread, was to cut it in lengths and store dry in an ice-cream container in the fridge. I tried that and it works :)
