Looking for a Moroccon Honey Cake recipe

I had the most gorgeous piece of honey cake today - moist, subtle flavours - possibly spice and some orange juice but no lemon or mint. It had coconut in and was topped with slivered almonds. I don't think it had syrup poured over it - it wasn't sticky. I have googled and searched here but come up empty handed. Any suggestions!
PS It came from the Star Anise cafe in New Plymouth
