Im baking a banana cake and i cant remember if the flour ive got is plain or self raising, does it matter if i put baking powder in if it is self raising. TIA

Think if you have s.r & add baking powder, cake doesn't rise very high?

For next time, put a dab of the flour on your tongue and it has a kinda fizz to it, its self-raising flour.

Thanks guys, went with adding it and it did rise and tastes yum
