Cream cheese icing - question ???

I am making a carrot cake today for the first time ever, with cream cheese icing, ( I am happy with recipes for both ). I am using shop-brought tiny icing flowers to decorate ( birthday cake ) but do I put them on just after icing so they stick and possibly bleed the colour out ? or wait till tomorrow and put the flowers on then and then they may fall off ? Does the icing dry much ? The flowers are pink and yellow and cream. The colour bleeding is my main concern. Thanks.

I did something like this too, but my flowers were made of coloured fondant, they where pastel pink and lilac. I put them on at lunchtime and we ate the cake at night. I had no 'bleeding'. Everyone was very impressed.

Cream Cheese Icing will saty relatively soft the entire time so Id play it safe and put the flowers on as late as possible to prevent colour bleeding. The icing will be plenty soft enough to stick.
