if so, how long do I have to boil it for?The recipe said 10 minutes and then test every minute after that to see if it's reached setting point.It's 40 minutes and counting and is nowhere near setting point as far as I can tell.

did you put some lemon juice in to help set i use cup for cup syrup and sugar and yes can take quite a while but worth it

Yes, I have added lemon juice.I got bored and bottled it - think I might have crab apple soup - lol.
