Chervil substitute please

denise60, Mar 16, 6:01am
Could someone please be kind enough to tell me - if a recipe calls for 2 sp (not sure if that is tsp, dsp or tbs) of chervil and I don't have any - what dried herb could I use instead. The recipe is for salmon and potato cakes and it already has dill in it as well :-) Thanks.

denise60, personally I would use parsley instead of the chervil, but the following is from a google search:-
( http://www.cdkitchen.com/features/tip/397/Chervil-Substitute )

"Chervil, Substitute... . .
1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes plus 1/8 teaspoon rubbed, dried sage can be substituted for 1 teaspoon chervil. ":-))

Tarragon or parsley as a substitute for chervil.
