Duck plucking....

lynan, May 4, 6:23am
Just thought I would pass on a tip re plucking, nice and easy and no mess.
Heat a big pot of water until boiling and chuck in some parrafin wax to melt. Dip the whole duck in ( hold by legs) for a minute or so then straight into a container of really cold water for a couple of minutes. The wax sets onto the feathers and makes it so very easy to pull them out.
Good luck for the season!

I pluck ‘em fast; I pluck em slow
Till I’m flat out on the floor
Doesn’t matter what I do,
there always is one more.

I had a little duckling
I fed him up for fun
I entered him in the chicken show
And strike me pink....he won!!

Gotta catch the duck first eh
Saturday is the day
up at dawn with beady eye
and fully loaded gun
Shiver beside some plastic ducks
and blow on little flute
here ducky ducky ducky
some down for a pluck

“If you’re going to pluck a duck, peasant
You have to kill it first!”
