Question about red wine

spoeklet, Apr 20, 4:05am
Hi everyone. I don't drink, but I've started making meals which have red wine in them. This is going to look like a really stupid question but, after you have opened a bottle of red wine, how long until it's no good to use anymore?
Thanks!

Like you, we don't drink either but I like to cook with wine. I usually pour the left over wine into ice cube trays and freeze for later use then just add enough cubes for the amount of wine required to any stock and then add that to the dish.

I think I'll do that - I'll measure out a cups worth first so I can see how many cubes is the right amount when defrosting. Thanks!

You can use it for months. One bottle lasts me about 2 months for cooking. Even if it turns a bit sour its still fine.

I was worried about leaving it for 4 days - lol!

Wish I could leave an opened unfinished bottle of wine lying around for that long.

If it has a screw top it will last for a couple of weeks in the fridge.
