Thanks whiskey - still 8 weeks though. Now that I'm back on track I will probably post more regularly.Day 3 for me and I gave up sausages tonight - just let the others eat them and I whipped up a stir fry instead.Sausages are my fav so a big step for me.Set the alarm this morning to do 30 mins on the treadmill but awoke to no power.Which also meant no shower before work, no shake (I use a milk shake maker).Instead I had to light the fire, go down to the orchard and filter some water from the tank then bring it up and pop it on the fire to heat.Managed to get it warm enough for a wash but no cuppa until I got into work.Had half a bar for breakfast (and finished the other half this afternoon).I'm thinking about trying to make a hot chocolate out of the opti tonight for my after dinner 'treat'.
mike - we are going on the Pacific Pearl.Have done two previous short cruises on the Sun but the Pearl has taken her place on cruises out of Auckland. She's supposed to be a better ship so we shall look forward to that. Better go have a drink of water and give the hot opti a try.

HOw much is it at the chemist, as opposed to TheDeal!

lilyfield, May 2, 7:46am

from pharmacy direct.co.nz

helena80, May 2, 7:57am
Buy online at radiuspharmacy.co.nz49 dollars for a box of 21 shakes.Buy three boxes adn get 3 shipping = $150 dollars fro 3 weeks on the programme -- I found it cheaper than my old eating habits - especially when I take into account all those coffees out I no longer do:)

Hi everyone

I'm starting on Optifast through the local hospital next week, and have a question. How much exercise did you do or are doing?

Walking would be ideal however I have an achillies problem which gives me burning pain and makes that difficult. I've tried all sorts of treatments and none helped other than an expensive cortizone shot. Suggestions would be great, just remember that I have real co ordination problems sighhh

dorothy_vdh, May 2, 8:17pm
I order a box from Radius Pharmacy yesterday for $59 including delivery but I did have a $10 voucher to use

Another great day hooray. And ibuy got the chicken soup and cappuchino bars back in stock - Ive ordered and they are on their way.Hope everyone else is doing well too.

silverwolf, May 3, 8:29am
Those are nice Rhad hmmmmmm might have to get myself some of those for next year when we go on our cruise to Alaska. They look really nice and comfy - and the benefit is the lower back is covered. Import for me as my mother in law does not know that I have a tattoo there. It is of a wolf howling at the moon with trees in the background and the moon also has a wolf's head in it.

silverwolf, May 3, 8:34am
Whiskey - that is what I am loving at present fitting the clothes that had shrunk in the closet (I think they were afraid of the dark and shrunk as a result). Am loving fitting into size 12 and 14 jeans (depending on make). And am loving doing the body building still which is going great - starting to get some muscle definition in the back and thighs. still need to do a lot more work on the abs.

whiskey13, May 3, 12:47pm
Sliverwolf. I'm loving the sound of your tattoo. I love anything to do with American Indians and their beliefs and ancestry. I'd love a tattoo of an american bison,(hope you didn't read that mum lol!) my partner was driving to a job one day and passed a farm that had a herd of bison and knowing that i love them took me back there on a sunday drive.

Hi there brokenbutterfly, hope you have another good loss this week. I'm planning on starting today and am wondering if black sugarless coffee counts in the water quota. Have to say had a try a couple of weeks ago and had to force it down but better luck this time hopefully!

mike547, May 4, 3:07am
Sunday did not go according to plan for me unfortunately. But been good since than, wasn't going to weigh myself until friday but couldn't resist this morning and have lost another 500 gms so pleased with that.
I bought some of the chocolate bars and actually find them really good, the vege soup is very nice too.The warehouse pharmacy hasn't had the berry ones or the chicken soup, has anyone had them and know what they are like

lynka1, May 4, 4:07am
Is anyone out there still doing/starting opti! I've been lurking for awhile finally make up my mind to bite the bullet and get onto it and everyone has disappeared! Sigh I guess I'd better just geton with it then *double sigh*

gardie, May 4, 6:50am
I don't particularly like the berry bars mike.I do get them occassionally for a change from the chocolate but they are quite different texture-wise too. They have a cereally like texture. My bad news today was that ibuy didn't get the cappuchio bars in - it was the coffee milkshakes!I cancelled my order unfortunately and will have to wait until the end of June apparently.Plain old chocolate for me.Almost out of them too so will have to order some more - radius pharmacy has free delivery over $50 yesterday so will have to see if they still have.My four days of Opti did not show one iota on the scales this morning - hopefully tomorrow will be different.I can certainly feel it in myself and that's the main thing.

dorothy_vdh, May 4, 7:57am
hi lynka and welcome.
This thread isn't as popular/busy as it used to be. But yes I check the thread everyday so if I can be of any help please don't hesitate to ask.

Good luck with your journey.

Did anyone see Sunday last night and those ladies who had stomach reductions. Not something I could do, but everyone is different
I have lost 57 kilos over the past 2 years, and there is NO WAY I am going to put that back on, but was very very demoralised after listening to the specialist(I think) saying must people put that weight back on

lynka1, May 4, 9:01am
Hi Dorothy thanks for the welcome and the encouragement. 57 kilos wow thats amazing! Having a bit of a problem with all that water, do you know if my coffee(black and sugarless) can be counted as water!

pcjo, May 4, 10:48am
I was recommended to try optifast but I am definitely not in the"go the whole hog, hard core, optifast diet" mode.however my downfall is lunch time. If i am hungry I start snacking on the sweet stuff, and it is down hill from there. Is Optifast a good option for a filling lunch! Can anyone recommend a good shake meal replacement that might be a little cheaper!

gardie, May 4, 5:33pm
Yay!Scales on the move.

dorothy_vdh, May 4, 7:45pm
I drink black tea, no sugar and I always counted that as just water. But that is considered calorie free

In the medical musts notes it does say avoid alcohol and caffeine drinks
I have never rigidly followed all the must do's.

Can you reduce the amount of coffee you drink to maybe just 1 or 2 a day.
Personally I am of the belief that you shouldn't deprive yourself of anything. Its just a matter of learning control. Slowly reduce and limit the quantity, don't immediately stop as that's when you crave and over eat

dorothy_vdh, May 4, 8:11pm
pcjo hi, and welcome to this thread. I am exactly the same as you,I usually only have a shake for breakfast. For lunch I have a dairy food, a homemade small healthy muffin and a piece of fruit. Generally this lasts for me. Try snacking on fruit or vegie sticks with salsa. This week I am having optifast for both breakfast and lunch as I have plateaued once again and need another kick start

lynka1, May 4, 8:38pm
Thanks for that Dorothy. I'm on coffee no.2 already for today so maybe I'll try 3or 4 today and ease down slowly! Learning control is definately my problem lol. Did you start off having opti 3 times a day and if so how long did you do that for!
